The Evolution of Instant Noodles

Created by Momofuku Ando in 1958, instant noodles were born out of a need to provide a quick, affordable meal to the masses post-World War II in Japan.

There's even space-friendly ramen, developed for astronaut consumption. These noodles can be eaten under microgravity conditions and were enjoyed on the Space Shuttle Discovery.
